Youth & Policy Reform Discussion

Representing the International Women’s Development Foundation, I had the privilege of meeting with the General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Mr. Tilvin Silva, at the party headquarters in Pelawatte.

Our conversation focused on the current government’s policies related to women and children, critically examining existing challenges and the reforms urgently needed. We also discussed the expectations and demands of youth for progressive policy change, especially in the areas of gender equity, social justice, and inclusive development.

This discussion was a meaningful step in connecting grassroots activism with national policymaking, reflecting the role of young leaders in shaping a more equitable and democratic future.
